Reviews
I was in two minds about writing a review, as I selfishly don't want too many people to know about this place.
All the staff we met were friendly and helpful. Special thanks to Sarah, who served us with a smile and gave us many great suggestions when we don't know what to choose for lunch.
Hint:
Mondays and Tuesdays are great times for a quiet lunch, the restaurant is not open but the kitchen still serves the full menu.
What a superb club. Super friendly staff, great deli (with a large selection of polish beer, sausages, pastries etc), and amazing Polish food in the restaurant. Can highly recommend the Roasted Pork Knuckle, Angus Beef & Onion Pierogie and Apple Charlotte Cake for desert. The crackling on the Pork Knuckle was the best I've ever had, extra crisp outer layer yet lovely and soft underneath. Portion size will not leave you hungry. Enjoy.
First time trying Polish food. This club is delightful. If you’re a tourist and think you can’t go to any type of club you see in Australia you’re wrong. Most clubs usually offer guest membership for the day when you show ID. The club is newly renovated and well designed. The atmosphere is friendly and welcoming. I chose pickled herring followed by potato cakes with smoked salmon. Both were delicious. Will go back again with an empty stomach to tackle the deliciously huge looking pork knuckle.
We visited for a birthday lunch, the Volunteers were all amazing, and their help was greatly appreciated, even going so far as to plate up the birthday cake we brought with us!
The food was delicious and well portions, and cooked as requested! The only issue we had sadly with the 1.5 hour wait for our food, though it came out piping hot, we were a bit disgruntled with the waiting time.
We would come back again for the food, but the wait time definitely left something to be desired.
As an individual of a Polish heritage, I grew up with authentic polish foods. I am very disappointed to say that this “Polish Club” was horrible. We ordered the pierogi, gulasz, potato pancakes, burger, gołąbki And szledzie. None of these meals were finished. The food was blander than bread, burnt, had hair in it and had no relation to the real Polish food I grew up adoring. When sitting in the dining area I could not hear the person next to me due to the immense noise, and not to mention tiny area. I definitely do NOT recommend this area to anyone seeking to explore the Polish culture through food.
A popular club with lots to offer. A deli with Polish foods and liquors to buy. Some take away options to buy in the deli you can eat next to the bar. A pool table . A comfy lounge area to sit and have a quiet drink or enjoy a musician playing. A busy restaurant serving up Polish favourites like schnizel, pierogis cabbage rolls and giant pork knuckles with sauerkraut. The staff are super friendly and very attentive.
We have visited Polish Club and have enjoyed our dinner there. All staff speak Polish and are friendly and polite. The club also has the display of items representing rich Polish history and Polish solders’ involvement in fighting for freedom during the WEII alongside British Army. Building is spacious with various seating areas and can be used for private functions.
Glad it reopened again. Love the fried mushrooms. Nonalcoholic watermelon strawberry beer is surprisingly good.
